RCA Dishwashers
Dishwashers were sold under the RCA and Whirlpool name (RCA Whirlpool) for about 10 years in the 1950s and
'60s. RCA appliances and electronics are no longer in production under the RCA name.
RCA Company History
RCA was founded by General Electric in 1919 and sold electronics until 1986. For most of that time, RCA was part
of an American monopoly of radio technology. In 1931, RCA expanded from the radio business by introducing its
first turntable playing 33 1/3 rpm records. The first ever television test pattern was presented at the World's
Fair in 1939 by RCA. RCA stayed mainly within the television and radio industry until 1955 when it sold its large
appliance division to the Whirlpool Corp., which began marketing "RCA Whirlpool" appliances until the
mid-1960s.
In 1957, Whirlpool introduced the RCA Whirlpool Miracle Kitchen on television. It's unknown why
Whirlpool stopped selling the RCA Whirlpool brand. Although Whirlpool is still selling appliances, the RCA brand
was bought in 1986 by a French conglomerate and has faded from the market.
Tips For Troubleshooting RCA Dishwashers
Parts for RCA dishwashers are difficult to find. Some parts are available on eBay or other specialty sites, but
most appliance vendors don't carry parts for RCA dishwashers.
RCA no longer makes household appliances, except for microwaves. There's no available
contact information pertaining to RCA dishwashers.
