Models are available in stainless steel, black, white or bisque colors. Frigidaire dishwashers come with AquaSurge technology that allows the user to adjust the washing pressure to more precisely clean dishes. Also available is the SilentDesign sound-insulation package, making the machines virtually silent. Frigidaire also offers a granite-grey interior that Frigidaire claims is "the industry's first stain-resistant interior."

Frigidaire's History

Founded in 1916, Frigidaire, then called the Guardian Frigerator Co., developed the first self-contained refrigerator. The founder of General Motors personally invested in the company in 1918, one year before the company adopted the name Frigidaire. From 1919 to 1980, General Motors owned the company, and its logo even said "Product of General Motors." During the period that Frigidaire was owned by General Motors, they became a heavy competitor in the automatic washing machine market. After being acquired by White Consolidated Industries in 1979, Electrolux purchased the company in 1986.

Some Frigidaire dishwashers come with a special SpeedClean cycle that uses 30 percent more water pressure to get dishes cleaner in 50 percent less time. These dishwashers also come with a Smart Soil Sensor that can sense the amount of food soil present and adjust the washing cycle appropriately. These features are available in Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery Series, and Frigidaire Professional Series product lines, which also feature the Ultra Quiet sound package and a BIG Tub design that holds 14 place settings.
