Magic Chef no longer manufactures dishwashers for the US market, though they are occasionally still available for sale. Magic Chef dishwashers are also available in parts of Europe and Asia. Magic Chef currently produces other household appliances including microwave ovens, refrigerators, freezers, and small kitchen appliances. It is a subsidiary of Maytag and Whirlpool, which produce annual revenues of $19.4 billion USD.

Magic Chef History

As a subsidiary of Whirlpool, Magic Chef enjoys a shared history that began in 1911. Whirlpool founder Lou Upton created the then-Upton Machine Company to produce motorized wringer washers. In 1949, the company name changed to Whirlpool, and produced $48 million in annual revenue. In 2006, Whirlpool acquired Maytag, along with its subsidiary Magic Chef.

Features of Magic Chef Dishwashers

Magic Chef dishwashers, when they were readily available, came as built-in appliances, and featured three to five wash cycle programs, an in-the-rack silverware basket, and a food disposal. A common feature among many Magic Chef dishwashers is the tall tub.

Although Magic Chef dishwashers are not Energy Star rated, they did offer an energy saving drying option.

Magic Chef Dishwashers Warranty Information

Magic Chef offers a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor. Be advised that these dishwashers are no longer available in the United States, and warranties are subject to country stipulations.
