Estate is a dishwasher brand owned by the Whirlpool Corporation. All of the Estate models are budget-priced under $500 and come with a variety of features. All seven models on the market are built-in units.

The least expensive model is a basic white dishwasher that has five washing cycles, two racks, and a silverware basket. The most expensive model comes in a silver color, is ENERGY STAR qualified, has an electronic console, and has three main wash cycles.

Estate's History

Estate is one of many brands owned by the Whirlpool Corporation, which bought the brand from RCA in 1955. The Whirlpool Corporation traces its history back to 1911 with the founding of the Upton Machine Company. Lou Upton, along with his uncle Emory and brother Fred, established the business in St. Joseph, Missouri.

The company began by producing washing machines, and in 1929, it merged with Nineteen Hundred Washer Company to meet its increased demands. Over the next twenty years, the company expanded, reaching an estimated $3 million in annual earnings by 1949. That same year, the company changed its name to the Whirlpool Corporation, after one of its popular brands. Today, Whirlpool owns numerous brands, including Maytag, which it acquired in 2006. Whirlpool's estimated annual earnings have currently reached about $19 billion.

Warranty Information

Estate dishwashers are covered by Whirlpool's one-year limited warranty. This covers parts and repair to fix defects in the materials or workmanship of one of their appliances. It does not cover repair or replacement of light bulbs, air filters or water filters, or damages caused by improper use or installation.
