"Very UNSAFE DESIGN"
My sister bought a Tappan Range for her summer place, the grates that cover the burners do not fit properly in the grover's that hold them they are to shallow, several times they have slide out when stirring food in the pan almost spilling hot food or liquid on us. I cannot find any web site were there has been a recall and the store where she purchased it just says they have not had any complaints which I don't believe. Has anyone else had this problem?

"Very Unreliable Products"
After only two years the main controller went out. Over $300 to repair!! It worked well for two years, but will never buy again. Also found out it's made by Frigidare, now there's some bad news. We went ahead and repaired as we couldn't afford a new one this close to the holidays. Will dump it soon and get something more reliable.

"My new stove top oven saved my life"
I have owned my Tappan oven for about a year now and I couldn't be anymore excited, I bought it because my old oven had completely broken down after 10 years and it was to the point where it had become dangerous to use, so I went to Lowes and went shopping around for an oven that's good and within budget. And that's when I bought my Tappan 30" freestanding electric range. I love that it seems to cook very fast and it's easy to be kept clean, on the other hand I do not like that I cannot place aluminium foil or aluminium trays at the bottom of the stove. I also wish that the Tappan ovens came in more variety of colors. But other than that I absolutely love my electric cooking range

"Dangerous Design of Gas Range"
I bought a Tappan Gas range from a well known furniture store and have been unsatified with it ever since. The grates that cover the burners do not fit right. It seams that the grooves that hold grates in place are not deep enough and every time I try to stir a pot the grates move out of place. They slide right out of the grooves meant to keep grates in place. I have almost burned myself several times not to mention causing the pans to spill. I don't know what to do about this. I am beside myself for having spent so much money for such a dangerous stove. I have had several gas stoves in the past and have never encountered this before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
