"mcbr1010gs failed too soon"
Used only ocass. & it quit cooling after about 90 days of operating time. Was out of warranty. Still has plastic on the doors. Have invested $125 in estimates to repair. Both men recommend junking. Not worth fixing. MC offered free parts with 1 more service call needed. Still undecided. Just might buy a new WHIRLPOOL, with an extended warranty and take my losses on the MC. It did work fine for 90 days. I have thrown out old fridges that were rusted, ole time color but still worked great.

"I am giving you a review today on our newer Magic Chief mini refrigerator."
I have purchased a Magic Chief mini refrigerator for my new bar we belt in our basement. We have owned the refrigerator for the past year and everything seems to be running smoothly with the expectation of the freezer portion of the refrigerator can sometimes get clogged up with unwanted ice buildup. To take care of that problem we just simply from time to time we will unplug the whole refrigerator so the ice can thaw out and we can start over without any ice. We are not aware if that unwanted ice buildup will cause any major damages to our refrigerator, so as or right now we haven't had any other major problems with the refrigerator and we hope by keep the ice buildup in the freezer in check that the refrigerator will not have to many problems down the road until we are looking for a new mini refrigerator.

"Filled to the Brink"
My Magic Chef and I have been roommates since May 2010 when I moved into my apartment. It was included with the apartment and it has been terrific!
My Magic Chef refridgerator cools my water just right, and it also freezes all of my food tremendously well. The fridge also has sections for various food items, and I have never had a technical issue with it. As far as the brand name is concerned, the fridge works great.
My main dislike about the refridgerator is that it is small. The size of the fridge is about 56in x 28in although my measurement may be off. My girlfriend and I love to eat, and we prefer a very large fridge. We also love to find deals at grocery stores, so it is understandable why a larger fridge would be better.
Overall, for one person, the fridge is perfect. It may be doable with two people, but I would prefer that you choose a bigger fridge. If Magic Chef as a company has larger refridgerators, I definitely recommend them!

"generally keeps food cool and freezer keeps food frozen"
My family has had this fridge for a few years now. We purcahsed it used in 2006 I beleive and have had it until now. We like its efiiceiency and the fact that things dont get freezer burned and thngs get cold fast, I dislike the layout of the inside. nothing has had to be repaired and the self defrost works wel. There is not much buildup of ice. I would def buy the same brand and reccomend it to a friend.

"After approx 60 days of running time Q U I T"
Weekend cottage Used ocass. as time allows. After only about 2 months total running time unit quit. Warranty apparently worthless after 1 year or cost of labor exceeds cost of refrigerator. Little if any support additional from Magic Chef. Still trying to get satisfaction from magic Chef. I have never had a refrigerator last so little time.

"must be unplugged periodically to make defrost start again"
Magic Chef refrig/frzr MCBR1020W, 10 cf, new fall 2009, defrost stops working approx. every 2 mos., freezer fills with frost and refrigerator warms. Part was replaced within 2 mos. of purchase. Was told to unplug it overnight or till warm periodically. Not satisfactory! Purchased as 2nd frig, but isn't reliable. Will be replacing it as soon as finances permit. Can't afford to junk it, but how can I sell it?

"STILL RUNNING GREAT 18 YRS YOUNG"
I purchased my home new in 1992 and it came with the Magic Chef refrigerator. It has never failed me through many storms (living in SW Florida).
I recommend the Magic Chef to everyone I speak with and tell them my story and that is why I wanted to make this comment.
The only thing that has stopped working is the Ice Maker. It surprises me periodically and makes a batch of ice. I just smile and it keeps on ticking...
