Wood's Refrigerators

Wood's makes a limited number of refrigerator models with various features. Interiors are made of one piece of molded plastic and doors are textured steel. Features include:

  • Capacity 5 cu. ft. to 17 cu. ft.
  • In-door storage, some with gallon container capacity
  • Frost free
  • Crisper drawers
  • Covered dairy storage
  • Reversible door handle capability
  • Some models have glass shelves.

All models are Energy Star® rated.

History

Wilbert Copeland (Bert) Wood founded the W.C. Wood Company in Ontario, Canada in 1930. Its first business was manufacturing electrical farm equipment. They produced the first refrigerator, which was a milk cooler, and freezer in 1938. The company expanded to include the US market in 1990, building a plant in Ottawa, Ohio.

Wood's Warranty

There is a one-year warranty on parts and labor for all models. There is an additional four-year warranty on compressor replacement in the 5 cu. ft. model; labor charges are paid by the consumer. There is an additional 4-year warranty on larger models covering the compressor and sealed refrigeration system; this includes labor charges.

For years 6 through 10, there is a warranty provided for the replacement of a failed compressor. This does not cover labor charges.
