Write a review of RCA

For a long time, RCA, also known as the Radio Corporation of America, used the slogan 'The most trusted name in electronics.' Whirlpool licensed the RCA name and marketed RCA Whirlpool refrigerators from the late 1950s through the early 1990s. RCA Refrigerators are not longer manufactured.

RCA's History

Founded in 1919, RCA was publicly held by General Electric (GE). Mostly an electronics company, RCA was heavily involved in the development of radio and TV in the first half of the century.

In 1955, the Whirlpool Corporation bought the RCA appliance operation. With this purchase, Whirlpool gained the right to market as RCA Whirlpool through the mid 1960s.

Today the RCA trademark is owned by Thomson SA and is used by three other companies:

  • Sony BMG Music Entertainment
  • Audiovox
  • TCL Corporation

Parts and repair information for your RCA refrigerator

Because RCA Refrigerators are no longer made, replacement parts can be difficult to find. Generally, they are available from sellers of vintage appliances and restoration companies.
