Amana has a full line of side-by-side refrigerators, freezer-on-top, freezer-on-bottom refrigerators and
freezers. (They even have an interesting "french-door" style freezer-on-bottom refrigerator.)
Amana markets its freezer-on-bottom refrigerators under
the "Easy Reach(tm)" product line. It markets its freezers under the trademark "DeepFreeze(tm)".
Amana is owned by Maytag.
Many, but not all, of Amana's refrigerators and freezers have earned
an Energy Star rating for energy efficiency.
History
Amana was founded as Amana Refrigerator, Inc. in 1934, taking its name from its city of origin, Amana, Iowa.
Goodman Manufacturing purchased Amana in 1997. In 2001, Goodman sold Amana's major appliance and commercial
microwave oven business (known as Amana Appliance) to the Maytag Corporation.
