"Keep looking"
We have white shaker Showplace cabinets in our kitchen. They were discolored right from the start. Parts are yellowed and some are white. I told the builder who had the kitchen installer come out. They complained how much work it would be to take the wall oven out, the cook top, the counter etc and couldn't guarantee the replacement pieces would match. I asked for a Showplace rep to come out which they did. He complained about all the same things PLUS said I would be charged. I didn't understand why I would be charged since it's a flawed product. Also I'm not sure why no one likes hard work or have pride anymore. Yes you have to take everything apart it's because your product is flawed. We worked hard and saved to build a new home. Yes I know, who cares. That's the problem, a company should care. It's been 10 years and I cannot live with them anymore, they are an embarrassment. They are the perfect example of what not to buy. We are now in the process of looking at new kitchen cabinet dealers and new kitchen cabinets for a good quality cabinet. We are looking forward to showing our new cabinets and sharing with friends on what TO buy!!

"Pealing, Chipping, Blistering..."
Our cabinets looked great....until they fronts stated chipping, pealing and blistering. Showplace claimed it was water damage but the damaged cabinets were nowhere near water. And our dealer agreed the product was defective. After a year -- yes, a year -- of back and forth Showplace agreed to replace ALMOST all of the damaged fronts. Their lifetime warranty is a joke. Surely there are better, more reliable products around.

"Worse Cabinets Ever- Don't Buy"
Did a full kitchen remodel which was managed and done by a top tier remodeling company in St. Louis. Showplace was recommended by the remodeler. We spent over $80K on the kitchen alone-within months the white cabinets which flank the perimeter of my kitchen were yellowing, puckering and cracking. The "solid wood" cabinets were not what I got. The painted cabinets are MDF. These cabinets today 5 years later continue to decline. They look horrible and I am embarrassed by the look of my kitchen. The integrity of these cabinets looks like they've been up for decades. I have a family of 5 adults- we are not hard on our cabinets. Even after contacting Showplace- they aren't standing behind their product and instead have shifted the issue to be mine- we clean the cabinets too much, there is too much sunlight, you cook too much, etc. Clearly, these painted cabinets are not meant to be in a kitchen. The stained wood cabinets- are doing great. The finish on the painted cabinets is very poor and appear to not be sealed or have any sealed characteristics to keep the pores of the paint from taking on other molecules. Showplace is not a good partner.

"Great Cabinets"
Had them installed in a large new kitchen we created. Being in MA, the designer came to us and showed us door samples, construction and helped us design cabinets including a large island. The cabinets were installed perfectly including under soffits. The total cost for the cabinetry was ~$14,000 (in 2002). We sold out house in 2017 and the kitchen sold the house - it was still in mostly like-new condition after 15 years. The only things needed we were occasional cleaning, tightening hinges and a couple of wood rails would get out of line occasionally needing to be put back into place. Outside finish and functionality (full-extension drawers, full-extension pull our shelves, double trash holder, pull our baskets for onions/potatoes, etc.) were all like new. Highly recommended!
