"Does not maximize space"
Too much wasted space. Panel down center of cabinets prevents use of
majority of cabinet. Even though same size as previous cabinets a lot of
wasted space. Can't fit many bowls and items in cabinets without turning
on side. Shelf holes poorly spaced. Cheap drawer design keeps popping
out of back. Poor design provided by Lowes. Really poor communication
and false information

" Staining variation unacceptable, poor build quality"
Bought Shenandoah - non glazed cabinets in 2007 and they were pretty
nice. So thought in late 2010 that this was a no brainer -- so wrong.
Cabinet door staining was really bad same cabinet would have two completely different shades of stain (really). Also the glazing application was poor.
Asked for two cabinets for the bath at the same time updating the kitchen and the bath cabinet was completely bowed in the front when it arrived.
Lowes installer did horrible work -- broke the valance over the sink twice because he was too lazy to predrill. Also tried to skip putting up scribe molding even though it was ordered and looked horrible without and his scribe cuts weren't exact and had to be reworked.
I thought saving $2-4K on cabinets by going with Shenandoah over another guy with more options wa a no brainer as I only needed the basics on options but I didn't factor how much Shenandoah went down in the quality dept.

"Hardwood Cabinets from Lowes"
I have owned these cabinets for ten years. They have been extremely durable. The wood has held up to the conditions of my home. I burn wood and it gets very dry and yet the cabinets have held up through the years in the dry conditions. I've gone through two wood kitchen tables and two sets of chairs due to the dryness of the air and the cabinets act as if they will last forever. Two of the shelves had to be replaced due to slight sagging from having heavy glassware on them but by dispersing the weight, the issue was solved. They have outlasted my expectations. Like mentioned above, two shelves were replaced but as far as the main cabinet themselves, no issues at all. All hinges are in perfect working order and the shelves haven't had any issues since. I would definitely purchase this brand again and would highly recommend them to friend.

"No issues at all"
Wow, a lot of negative reviews over pretty minor issues. I have no
issues with Shenandoah whatsoever.

"Shenandoah Cabinets"
I have bluemont shenandoah in maple with coffee glaze. I think they are an excellent deal based on pricing, construction, and customer service.
Of course I heard another customer upset because of the streaking in her cabinet doors. People who know nothing about wood should not be buying wood cabinets. She paid for a Volvo and wanted a Bentley, imagine that.
I am very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend Shenandoah (American Woodmark) to anyone.

"No Quality Inspection before Shipping"
Wish I had read the reviews here prior to my recent purchase! I am expected to accept replacement parts and rebuild the damaged cabinets that made it through the factory quality inspection and were delivered to my house! Oh yes, it is going to take an additional 7-10 days for the "replacement parts" to arrive so I will be storing the damaged cabinets and existing in my home without a kitchen for another 7-10 days.! I would not recommend buying cabinets from this company the quality of their workmanship leaves a lot to be desired!

Review:
"Horrible quality"
These cabinets are horrible. I have received several bad parts. The shelves were crooked (I had to place a cardboard spacer between the shelf and some pins) and the cutlery drawer did not move freely (upon further inspection, pieces of the drawer were cut to the wrong size, putting pressure on the wheels). Also many of the shelves are far too narrow. I would never buy these again. For very expensive new cabinets this is unacceptable. When I mentioned these problems to Shenandoah, the only thing they offered was a $100 credit. Horrible!

"custom made base cabinet"
The interior walls of this cabinet separated from the back wall, causing the shelves to fall down on each other and breaking my china and pyrex items stored there. The company is willing to replace the cabinet but will not pay the $250 labor to remove the broken cabinet and install the new one. I would neither recommend nor purchase Shenandoah products again.
